Brad Tanner

DVM, DAVDC-EQ

Shareholder / Rood & Riddle Lexington

Dr. Brad Tanner found his passion for horses at a young age on his family’s farm in Kentucky. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Kentucky in 2001, followed by veterinary school at Auburn University, graduating in 2005. After graduation, Dr. Tanner completed an internship at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital. The following year he became an associate and served as the resident veterinarian for Shadwell farm. Dr. Tanner became a shareholder in the practice in 2012. He is one of very few Board-Certified Veterinary Dentists™ and a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College.

Joni Watkins

RVT

Imaging Instructor / MinXRay

Joni attended Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas, graduating in 1978 as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Following graduation, she joined Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in the radiology section of the department of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery. After 5 years, she transferred to the department of Large Animal Medicine and Surgery allowing her to combine her love for radiology with her passion for horses, where she spent the remainder of her professional career (26 years) teaching students the art of equine radiographic imaging and providing high quality radiographs of patients admitted to the large animal clinic of Texas A&M’s veterinary medical teaching hospital. In 2006, she joined Sound Technologies where her duties included lecturing and providing laboratory instruction in radiographic and ultrasonographic techniques. Since 2017, she has been employed by MinXray Inc. as a lecturer and laboratory instructor for radiation safety and imaging techniques as well as sales consultant. She has presented numerous lectures on radiographic imaging at the local, state, and national level.

Sheri Miller

LVT, VTS (EVN)

Rood & Riddle

Sheri Miller is a Licensed Veterinary Technician with a Specialty in Equine Veterinary Nursing.
She is a past president and co-founder of the AAEVT. For the past 24 years she has worked
alongside equine surgeon Dr. Larry Bramlage at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington,
Kentucky whose practice focuses on the care and treatment of Thoroughbred racehorses.

David Rousseau

DVM, MS

Veterinary Clinical Director / Butterfly Network

Obsessed with animals from a young age, Dr. David Rousseau began his veterinary journey in
earnest as a veterinary technician at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston. He attended veterinary school at Ross University and Washington State and subsequently completed a small animal rotating internship at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in Massachusetts. He practiced at VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital as Medical Director for over ten years. The ability to help
animals, their humans, and fellow veterinarians from a broader perspective, coupled with an interest in game changing technologies in veterinary medicine, led Dr. Rousseau to veterinary industry work. He worked at Zoetis for several years before joining Butterfly as Veterinary Clinical Director. An avid horseman, he was thrilled to realize his dream of working in a cross species role, spreading the word on the evolution and technological advancements in veterinary point of care ultrasound.

Dan Dreyfus

DVM, MS

Ultrasound Instructor / Butterfly iQ + Vet

After completing a master’s degree in cell and developmental biology, Dan graduated from veterinary school at U. C. Davis. He then completed a rotating internship in large animal medicine and surgery followed by a large animal surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania, New Bolton Center.
After his residency he moved to Maryland, where he worked for 27 years in a group practice covering Maryland and Virginia thoroughbred racetracks. In addition, Dan managed his own referral equine surgical and lameness practice. He is the author of multiple publications. Dan joined Kindred Biosciences in May 2017 as a professional services veterinarian and served as the Senior Veterinary Science Liaison through June 2020. He worked as a veterinary technical services manager and lead technical writer for Anivive Lifesciences through March 2022. Currently, Dan serves as a consultant to multiple veterinary diagnostic and pharmaceutical companies.

Andrea Whittle

LVT

Internal Medicine Tech / Rood & Riddle

Andrea graduated with a BS (Hons) in Equine Science while living in England. Since moving away of the UK, she has worked at Kentucky Equine Research Inc., Waikato Equine Intensive Care Unit in New Zealand and Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Kentucky. Andrea is a past President of the AAEVT.

Amber Brandt

LVT

Rood & Riddle

Amber Brandt is a Licensed Veterinary Technician at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in
Lexington, Kentucky. For the past 12 years she has been a valued member of Dr. Bramlage’s
team, helping to evaluate and care for Thoroughbred racehorses through all stages of their
careers. The Bramlage Team’s special interests include lameness evaluation, diagnostic
imaging, and orthopedic surgery.
