Join us for our first AAEVT Anesthesia Society Event of 2026!
Hosted in beautiful Cave Creek, Arizona (just north of Phoenix) at Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center, we have a full day of lectures and hands-on labs covering a range of Anesthesia topics & techniques.

Elyse Durket
DVM, DACVS
Equine Surgery, Chaparral VMC
Dr. Durket is originally from Ohio where she had her first job working with small animals and shadowed an ambulatory veterinarian as a high schooler. She went off to Miami University and got a bachelors degree in zoology. She also met her husband and became a “Miami merger.” After undergrad, she achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a true Buckeye. She graduated veterinary school from The Ohio State University. She came to Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center and discovered her love and passion for equine surgery during her internship. She then pursued further training at the University of Florida with an internship in surgery and sports medicine. After her year in Florida, she returned to the Midwest to complete a surgical residency at Iowa State University. She has a passion for lameness, sports medicine and colic surgery. She has published research in both orthopedics and post-operative colic management. Dr. Durket has a passion for horses and aspires to have a horse of her own soon; in the meantime, she is currently exploring which discipline is her favorite. She also may be a low- key crazy cat lady.
Jillian Minuto
DVM, DACVIM
Equine Internal Medicine, Chaparral VMC
Dr. Minuto was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, where she rode recreationally before becoming active in 4H. She completed her undergraduate degree in animal science at the University of Vermont before graduating from the Ohio State University for veterinary school in 2018. Dr. Minuto completed a rotating internship at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center in New Jersey, focusing on internal medicine, surgery, anesthesia, and ambulatory practice. She then completed a residency in large animal internal medicine at Tufts University in Grafton, MA. Dr. Minuto’s clinical interests include medical causes of poor performance, neurological disease, neonatology, and emergency and critical care. She has completed extensive research looking for novel treatments of Equine Asthma. Outside of the office, Dr. Minuto enjoys spending time outdoors – skiing, mountain biking, and paddle boarding.
Nyah March
DVM
Equine General Practice Intern, Chaparral VMC
Dr. Nyah March was born in Tacoma Washington and attended UC Davis for undergrad and vet school! She owns a 17-year-old Arabian gelding named Tigger. She also has a dog named Tink and 2 cats Tux and Siri. She enjoys riding dressage, playing tennis and snuggling with her animals. She also has enjoyed vacationing in Costa Rica and Ireland. One interesting fact about Nyah is that her high school was used for filming the movie “10 Things I hate about You.” Her favorite part of her job is helping the sick horses, and their owners feel better.
Courtney Francis
Veterinary Assistant
Equine Anesthesia & Advanced Imaging Technician, Chaparral VMC
Courtney was born in Pennsylvania and has lived in Arizona for about 15 years. She has 3 horses and 1 cat. Her special interests include emergency medicine, anesthesia and advanced diagnostic imaging. She enjoys being a part of the AAEVT Anesthesia Society and taking continuing education to advance her knowledge and skills.
Lindsey Schoelen
LVMT
Anesthesia & Surgery Technician, AAEVT AS Co-Chair
Lindsey has resided in Middle Tennessee for over 30 years but is actually an Oklahoma native. She has spent many years in varying aspects of the equine industry including training, showing, teaching, and reproduction. The last 16 years she has spent in veterinary medicine as a licensed technician for with a focus on surgery and anesthesia, as well as, medicine and triage.
